New “Shakedown” package revives retro Dodge style for new Challengers

Dodge Challenger for sale

Fans of the Dodge Challenger, listen up: A new premium vehicle package exclusive to the brand’s beloved muscle cars is coming to Fox Lake Dodge dealerships.

Dodge designers debuted the new “heritage-inspired” Challenger Shakedown appearance package at LX Springfest in Pomona, California earlier this year to huge, excited crowds. The package will be available for all Shaker hood-equipped Challengers and is sure to satisfy your thirst for Dodge nostalgia.

The Shakedown package is perfect for die-hard Dodge fans who long for the return of classic muscle car aesthetics to the modern automotive market. The package includes new asymmetrical black racing stripes reaching from the Challenger’s rear decklid, up and over the roof and around the Shaker hood scoop. Trust us: it’s a truly awesome old-school adornment.

The package also comes with white-faced gauges, a range of new (and classic) paint colors, and an upgraded Alpine audio system with your choice of six or nine speakers and a 275-watt or 506-watt amplifier.

It looks like the automaker has been listening to the requests pouring out of Dodge dealerships across the country because the Shakedown package finally allows Challenger owners to get their vehicles painted with two classic paint colors: B5 Blue and Plum Crazy. Plum Crazy was notably a part of the High Impact Paint scheme that Dodge originally rolled out during the 1969 and 1970 model years. Those two special exterior colors will be available for all Charger models and the Challenger T/A, T/A Plus and T/A 392 models.

Other unique paint colors are available as part of the package, including Mustard Stain, Michigan Salt, Root Beer, “It’s Not Green,” and Wicked Witch. Each of these creatively named colors is guaranteed to lend your Challenger a distinctive retro look and feel.

“Dodge/SRT has a rich history of using iconic heritage and high-impact colors and unique graphics to make our vehicles look custom, straight from the factory,” Steve Beahm, head of passenger car brands for Dodge/SRT, Chrysler and Fiat – FCA North America, said in a recent statement. “Whether a customer remembers B5 and Plum Crazy from when they were new in the ‘60s and ‘70s or they’re a new customer today, these paint colors and unique Shaker stripes stand out in the crowd and speak to our customers’ passion for their cars and their love of the Dodge and SRT brands.”

The all-new Shakedown appearance package is now available at Dodge dealerships near you on the Challenger R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker.
