Jeep Wrangler: Treading Lightly with Technology
I think all Jeep loyalists can agree upon one thing – a Jeep should be highly functional, and it should look like a Jeep. So how did the automaker redesign the timeless and classic appearance of the 2018 Jeep Wrangler while still maintaining its functionality?
Many changes have been made to the 2018 Jeep Wrangler, but it still maintains its classic appearance. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler will continue to have the same solid axels, fold-down windshield, removable roof and doors, round headlights, and a manual hand-brake lever as before. Jeep’s designers understand the importance of keeping these key elements and characteristics of Jeep’s brand unchanged.
Although the 2018 Jeep Wrangler doesn’t look like it was redesigned, there are many new subtle, yet functional, exterior updates. These updates include shifts in the angle of the grille and windshield which allow for improved aerodynamics, larger side windows for better visibility, and an extended wheelbase for additional rear seat legroom. Additionally, the 2018 Jeep Wrangler received a new aluminum and magnesium tailgate that mounts the spare tire lower for improved rear visibility.
The 2018 Jeep Wrangler received and updated interior, too! One major update is to the driver and passenger area. This area is now more spacious and provides numerous stash areas and charging ports. Additionally, the 2018 Wrangler comes standard with tons of useful interior technology. This includes push-button start, steering wheel controls for audio, voice and cruise control, and a 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen.
