The New Challenger Hellcat Widebody is Finally Here

Have you noticed the crowds at local Dodge dealers near you? Have you seen people clustered around a certain beautiful Dodge Hellcat this summer and wondered what the big deal was? Well, the big deal is that the 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody is now available at Dodge dealerships and you’re about to miss your shot to see it for yourself.

The 2018 Challenger Hellcat Widebody is everything Hellcat fans have been waiting for. It combines the Hellcat’s ridiculously over-the-top 707-horsepower engine with features from other versions of the Challenger to make the modern muscle car of your dreams into a reality.

“The new Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody completes our strongest Dodge muscle car lineup in history,” Tim Kuniskis, head of passenger cars for Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT – FCA North America, said in a recent statement. “Our brand, engineering and design teams poured a ton of effort into making the new Demon the world’s fastest quarter-mile production car, so now we’re leveraging that know-how, and some of those vital elements, and transferring them to the new Challenger Hellcat Widebody for improved performance on the street and a bolder, more aggressive look.”

The new Hellcat Widebody blows its competition (the Ford Mustang Shelby GT350R and the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1) out of the water thanks to its insane supercharged HEMI V-8 engine delivering 707 horsepower and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. The vehicle offers improved lap times, lateral grip, acceleration, braking and performance numbers over its Hellcat predecessors and runs a quarter mile in just 10.9 seconds. The new Widebody goes from zero to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds and tops out at a max speed of 195 mph.

The 2018 Dodge Challenger Hellcat Widebody is the first Hellcat vehicle to feature a standard electric power steering (EPS) system. The system utilizes SRT Drive Modes with selectable settings (Street, Sport and Track) to ramp up handling performance, deliver better steering feel and give drivers greater ease of turning.

The Widebody’s new EPS and SRT Drive Modes allow drivers to tailor their experience by controlling the vehicle’s horsepower, transmission shift speeds, steering, paddle shifters, traction and suspension. The car even comes with a Custom setting for ultra-picky drivers who want to input their own individual preferences.

And, of course, the 2018 Challenger Hellcat Widebody looks pretty fly as well. The vehicle is available in fifteen different exterior colors, features a Hellcat-exclusive grille and fender badges, and comes with unique Widebody fender flares.
